Creating a Flex Cycle

A Flex Cycle code is required for each flexitime cycle record.  A flex cycle defines the number of weeks each timesheet record is to be record for.  By default, a 4WEEK code will be created, but additional codes may be created if required.  It is suggested the Flex Cycle code is created in line with the flexitime cycle.  For example, if wishing employees to record flexitime timesheets every week, then a Flex Cycle code of 1WEEK could be created.  If a cycle of once a fortnight is required, then a code could be created called 2WEEK, etc.  Multiple Flex Cycles may be created if employees within your organisation require different Flex Cycle periods.

Each Flex Cycle code must also be created as a Leave Formula code in the ‘FL611 - Leave Formula Definition’ form.  For example, if establishing a 4 week cycle having a Flex Cycle code of 4WEEK then a corresponding formula code is required. An example is as follows:

To define the leave formula codes that relate to flexitime the formula code/s must be placed in the following new Code rule:

A flexitime leave code is also required for the recording of flexitime.  An example of a leave code is as follows:

A paycode may also be created specifically for the payment of flexitime leave and recorded against the flexitime leave code ‘Normal Salary’ field in FL610.

If wishing to utilise flexitime banked hours functionality, then a leave code specific for banking hours must also be established.  For example:
